Tranquil IT and Cyberwatch partner to detect and fix vulnerabilities in Linux, Windows and MacOS environments

In order to offer an ever more efficient software, Tranquil IT has decided to associate its skills with those of Cyberwatch. In the WAPT console, it is now possible to have an integration of the Cyberwatch solution.

This partnership is a direct result of requests from both Cyberwatch and Tranquil IT customers, who told the two companies of their complementarity and the interest of a technological collaboration.

CThis interest is natural, as Cyberwatch is a vulnerability management solution, while WAPT allows the automation of software deployment and updates on an IT infrastructure. Vulnerabilities are very often fixed by patch deployment. Cyberwatch can detect vulnerabilities while WAPT can help deploy the appropriate patches.

This partnership allows technical teams to collaborate to:

• Display in the WAPT console the vulnerability information retrieved from the Cyberwatch server, allowing the system administrator to prioritize their patching operations.
• Display in the Cyberwatch web console the ability to deploy an update on the vulnerable device, if the update exists in the WAPT Store.

The benefit of such an integration is to display in each interface information directly from the other product, but also to trigger logical automatic actions in each product. This automation facilitates system administration and security maintenance for all teams.

Integrations between solutions

Cyberwatch integration in WAPT console:

The Cyberwatch integration in WAPT console is based on the audit type package “tis-cyberwatch-plugin-import-from-cyberwatch”, to be deployed on a WAPT administration workstation.

The WAPT administrator will then need to configure the package with the Cyberwatch server URL and a valid account. The audit package will then regularly query the WAPT server to retrieve the inventory of the IT assets, and send the relevant data to the Cyberwatch server via API. The Cyberwatch server then analyzes the data to deduce the vulnerabilities and sends it back to the WAPT console via API.

The visualization is then done in the WAPT console or in the Cyberwatch interface.

WAPT Integration in Cyberwatch Console:

The WAPT integration in the Cyberwatch interface relies on the installation of a lightweight proxy, which will intercept the HTTP hook requests generated by Cyberwatch, and transform them with the right parameters to a valid request for WAPT to deploy system packages.

The lightweight proxy will need to be configured with a user token and an application token beforehand.

This way, the Cyberwatch solution interface can be used to trigger a package deployment in WAPT.
